Expressive Words Reflection - Thiago A

Expressive Words Reflection

by Thiago A

The Expressive Words project uses words and clever designs that correlate to one another. Things such as making the letters of the word "Tower" stack on each other to make a tower or the letters of the word "dominos" falling on each other like how dominos would is an example of clever designs. With this project, I've learned to give words more than dictionary meaning, but more of a visual definition of how they can be portrayed. Unlike my other projects, I made sure to follow the instructions of the requirements such as not disorienting the type ( Stretching, or Manipulating the text in other ways than moving them around, rotating, etc.) However, With these designs come some flaws that I believe I can improve upon. For example, I felt that the "Split" design was very lackluster and could have been replaced with a better expression. Another design I believe I can improve upon is the "dominos" design, Which came out a little iffy and unorganized. Although some of my designs had flaws... I believe I did a very good job of using my creativity for these designs. Similar to our other design projects, This allowed me to familiarize myself and solidify my skills in using InDesign and overall improve my quality of work.
