Block Set Type reflection - Thiago A
Block Set Type Reflection
by Thiago A
After the work process of the Block Set project, I am more open to using new tools. I feel like after this project I have somewhat of an expectation of what there is to come from InDesign. Things like learning the basics of Text manipulation, Grasping simple key binds and shortcuts, exploring fonts, and using tools such as the rectangle measure to measure the spacing between text to ensure accuracy and precision.

I feel like where I struggled the most was when creating the first set of pages which used a condensed slab-serif font (insert font name), because due to the spacing, the word "yellow" could not fit into the box. I feel like the most repetitive part of this project however, was the use of the rectangle measure because I kept having to bring the rectangle down every time, then adjust the words to line up with the rectangle, and then hope that it lines up well. One positive thing about the project was learning InDesign for the first time and playing around with the tools to get a smooth finish, I enjoyed this project as something to keep my hands busy. Overall, This project was a good introduction to InDesign and its basic aspects, I am excited to see what's to come after this project!
